Feed The City Launches
The Debbra House Launches Feed the City, Serving 120 People Across Detroit
In July 2026, The Debbra House launched our very first Feed the City outreach—and we are proud to continue this work as an official 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.
Becoming a 501(c)(3) marks an exciting new chapter for The Debbra House as we continue raising awareness and working to prevent domestic violence while expanding the ways we serve, support, and uplift our community.
Our first Feed the City showed exactly what that commitment can look like in action.
What began with a goal to serve 100 people grew into something even bigger. With the support of our family, friends, donors, community members, and partners, we were able to provide 120 people throughout Detroit with food, toiletries, and other essential items.
More Than a Meal
Feed the City is our quarterly community outreach initiative focused on supporting our unhoused neighbors while reminding every person we encounter that they are seen, valued, and cared for.
During our July outreach, we traveled throughout Detroit distributing food and essential items directly within the community. But Feed the City is about more than the items inside each bag.
It’s about showing up with compassion. It’s about treating people with dignity. And it’s about using the resources we have to make a difference—one city, one heart, one blessing at a time.
Feed the City Continues
Our next Feed the City will take place on October 4, 2026, and this time we’re setting our goal even higher: 150 people.
We are incredibly grateful to everyone who helped make our first outreach possible, including our Community Partner, BTYB, and every person who donated, purchased supplies, shared our mission, or simply helped spread the word.
July was just the beginning, and we’re excited for what’s ahead. 💜
Together, we can continue showing up for Detroit and reminding our community that they are seen, valued, and cared for.
