Feed the City: Our Commitment to the Detroit Community

At The Debbra House, our mission extends beyond raising awareness and preventing domestic violence. We believe in showing up for our community, meeting people where they are, and reminding them that they are seen, valued, and cared for.

We are proud to continue this work as an official 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, creating even more opportunities to serve, support, and make a meaningful impact throughout our community.

One way we bring that mission to life is through Feed the City, our quarterly community outreach initiative dedicated to supporting unhoused individuals throughout Detroit with food, toiletries, paper products, and other essential items.

After launching Feed the City in July 2026 and reaching 120 people, we’re preparing to return to the community on October 4, 2026, with an even bigger goal: serve 150 people.

Our Next Feed the City

For our October outreach, we are collecting supplies to prepare meals and provide essential items to those we encounter throughout the city.

Donations needed include:

Bread • Turkey & Ham • Individual Bags of Chips • Mustard & Mayo Packets • Fruit Cups • Granola Bars • Individually Packaged Cookies • Bottled Water • Travel-Size Toiletries • Paper Products

There Are Many Ways to Support

Supporting Feed the City doesn’t have to mean making a financial contribution. You can purchase and donate supplies, share our outreach with others, engage with our posts, or simply help spread the word about what we’re doing. Every form of support helps us reach more people.

For those who would like to make a monetary donation:

Cash App: $TheDebbraHouse

PayPal: @TheDebbraHouse

Please write “DONATION” when submitting your contribution.

We are grateful to our Community Partner, BTYB, and to every person who donates, purchases supplies, shares our work, or helps introduce The Debbra House and Feed the City to someone new.

Together, we can continue showing up, sharing love, and reminding people throughout our community that they are seen, valued, and cared for. đź’ś
